Our Greys

George

George is the King of Angel's Avian Rescue. He came in with Angel several years ago from a woman who was getting up in age and starting to forget things. His owner thought she was feeding him, but was not. There were other birds there, but all but George and Angel had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. George is the friendliest and arguably the most entertaining bird at the rescue. Open George's cage and you're greeted with "Hellow Geowrge!" and he strolls up to you so you can pick him up...then he hops on your hand, grabs your bottom lip and gives you a kiss.

George never ceases to amaze you with what comes out of his mouth. When trimming his nails and hearing the dremel, he said "that engine, what engine". Another time when he was out and had climbed up Chico & Hobo's cage, Hobo gave him a nip, so I grabbed George and asked him "What were you doing up there?" And he answered in a very matter-of-fact tone... "Workin'". George is a great friend, he always wants to hang out and laughs at all your jokes. He just got a brand new cage and has a window seat in the living room where he gets to greet everyone coming in. And, on the off chance that Gerda actually sits down for a minute, he comes out on his new "porch" and sits with her. George is not available for adoption.

Echo

Echo is another Angel's Avian Lifer. Echo came in with Tootoo after his owner developed respiratory problems. Echo lives up to his name by being the best talker at the rescue. It's always a surprise to hear yourself behind you when you're cleaning cages or to hear someone else ask "What'cha dooin?" who isn't there. Echo likes to swing, give kisses and give you 4. He's a bit skittish of men, but loves women. I've been told he can tell you his address, but we've not been able to get that out of him yet. Echo is not available for adoption.

Dinky & Precious

Dinky (left) & Precious are another pair of Lifers at Angel's Avian. They too have been here about 15 years and we think it's best if they just stay with us. Dinky's name is ironic because he is one of the biggest Greys I've ever seen. Precious is just that, she's a sweetheart. Both of them love to play with foraging toys and sing Christmas carols. Yes, Dinky can sing all of "Jingle Bells". However, be warned, if Dinky fluffs his neck and says "Tickle, Tickle" that means he wants to bite you! Dinky and Precious are not available for adoption.

Miracle & Blessing

Miracle & Blessing are the newest pair to come to Angel's Avian Rescue. Their owner was moving out of the country and decided to give them up. Miracle & Blessing have been together since they were eggs. They was actually raised by Gerda about eight years ago when the breeder who was incubating them lost power in his building thus shutting down the incubator. Miracle & Blessing's heads were turned around and would not straighten out, so the breeder was going to euthanize them. Gerda said "No, give them to me". Gerda was able to straighten their heads back around and strengthened their necks by teaching them to pull on tongue depressors. Now, they lead a healthy life and are ready for a new home. Miracle & Blessing are available for adoption.

Sweety & Sonny

Sweety and Sonny are another pair that have been at the rescue longer then most of us can remember. They pretty much keep to them selves, although Sonny will come to the cage and greet you and accept a little beak scritch. Neither are very interested in any more human contact then that, but they are happy birds...they play with their toys and peep if you come to the cage and talk to them. Sweety and Sonny are not available for adoption.
