Our Conures

Connor & Maggie

Connor and Maggie are a pair of wild caught Blue Crown Conures. Connor has been with us for several years and came in with a little Peach Front Conure we named Peachy (creative, huh?). Peachy passed away (he was an old little guy) in 2006 and Connor became quite depressed. Nearly a year later, Maggie came to us after her owner passed away. It was love at first site! We held Maggie in her carrier in front of Connor's cage and his little eyes just lit up! So, we thought we'd give them a try together. When we put Maggie in Connor's cage, he came right over to her and started preening her. Maggie does keep Connor in line though...Connor is not allowed to talk to people. Connor will come greet you at his cage door when you come in the room, but if Maggie sees him being friendly with one of those humans, Conner gets a nip and so do you. Maggie can be very sweet and cuddly if separated from Connor, but these two are only adoptable together.

BoBo

Bobo is a Nanday Conure who's been with us for several years as well. He's been a tough nut to crack. We don't think Bobo has ever had any human attention because until recently he's wanted nothing to do with people...he stays as far away as his cage will allow. Just this month we've been able to handle him without bleeding, so he showing signs of improvement. He does like baths. We've been trying to teach him to play, but he just doesn't seem interested. Eventually, I think he will come around. He is starting to show a little interest in affection. Bobo is available for adoption if someone can capture his heart.

Sunshine & Mavrick

Sunshine & Maverick are our two newest additions to the flock. Sunshine (left), a Patagonian Conure, is just a love. He loves to cuddle, get scritches and just hang out. Maverick (right) a Nanday Conure is a bit skittish, but very tame, he'll step up, give kisses and talks up a storm. Maverick is not as much into being pet, but so far, has not bitten. Unless you have earplugs, don't try and separate these two! I made the mistake of walking out of the room with Sunshine while Maverick was still in the cage...sheesh. If Maverick is out, he'll fly after you if you take his friend away. They are quite bonded and will only be adopted as a pair.

Sadie

We don't know much about Sadie other then that she is an 11 year old Peach Front Conure who needed a place to go. We were called by a vet who we normally do not get calls about parrots from and were asked if we could take her, she had already been checked out and was done her quarantine and wanted to know if we'd take her. So we went and picked her up. She's a sweet little girl. She laughs and gives kisses. She's a bit cage aggressive, but I think that will subside once she gets used to things. Sadie is available for adoption.

Lady & Percy

Lady and Percy are Gold Capped Conures who came from a phone call we received by their owners. We don't know much about them other then we were called because Lady was in need in need of medical attention and they're owners were not in a position to provide that for her. So we went to pick them up and were shocked when we saw Lady with a silver dollar sized wound on her right side. So we got her to a vet and she's healing nicely. She's also growing feathers on her chest and back since she can't get to them now! We were told that Percy was mean...we haven't seen any signs of that. Both are very sweet birds and are available for adoption. Lady will be available once she heals.

Bongo!

Bongo is so cool! Bongo is a year old Sun Conure and is just about as sweet as can be. He was brought to our vet to be euthanized because his owner felt that Bongo was responsible for his illness. Fortunately, our doctor stepped in and called us and arranged it so that he would come to us instead. Bongo laughs, he says "Good Boy!" and "Step-up". He also tries to give kisses, but he's not very good at it yet. *lol* He loves everyone and always wants to go to the newest person in the room. He plays with everything you put in front of him, and is just the most wonderful little bird. Bongo is available for adoption.
