We here at Angel's Avian Rescue know more about birds then we do about computers. That being said, if you would like to request a relinquish form, adoption application or copy of an adoption agreement, please feel free to email me.

We will soon have all those here for you to either fill out online or in .pdf form for you to print and mail…as soon as we figure out how to do that.

Our adoption process is more of an adoption guideline. At this point, we do not require an adoption fee (however, donations are greatly appreciated). All we require is loving forever homes for our birds. We require a minimum of three months volunteering at 4-6 hours a week. During this time, you can get to know all of the birds and they can get to know you. The volunteering period can be longer, depending on how you and your bird are working out…the length if your volunteering period will be determined by your bird. Some birds will take longer to come around then others. Keep an open mind though…most of the time, the bird picks you, not the other way around.

Please do not be discouraged if the first time you come, none of the birds will step up for you or want to be your friend. All of the birds here have a story, and none of the stories are good ones, else they wouldn’t be in a rescue. They are all much slower to trust then a baby bird at a pet store. But believe me, the first time one of them decides you’re OK and steps up for you…it’s the best feeling in the world!

There will be a before and after adoption home inspection.

These are very intelligent animals. Some have the mentality of a five year old child. However, the one thing they cannot do is choose who their owner is and how their owner treats them. That is our job.

The only other rule is, that if you do adopt, and if for any reason down the road you cannot keep your bird, the bird is to be returned to Angel’s Avian Rescue.
